The current boom in venture funding is creating a lot of winners. Funds are finally getting cash recycled through IPOs, M&A and, in particular SPACs. This opens up the wallets of the funds to provide more funding for more startups. Good news for the innovation economy!

Private companies have raised twice as much venture capital since the start of the year - some $53 billion - as in the same period last year, according to PitchBook. And the comparable period last year was before Covid-19 spread globally, when volumes were also high. It is no secret why this is happening. Interest rates are so, so low that investors will park their money anywhere it can grow - and nothing is growing as fast as tech.
