What Goes Around Comes Around--Bad Idea to Rescind Government Wide Guidance Policies

What Goes Around Comes Around-- Someday, progressives (like me) are going to rue that the Biden Administration rescinded the Trump era good government, transparency and standardization/restrictions on guidance which government agencies use for good reasons (e.g., timely notification to the affected public) and bad reasons (e.g., avoid dealing with public comment for reasons of political expedition).

The Trump "2 rescinded rules for every 1 new rule" never made much sense and was infeasible in implementation, but getting government wide control of guidance procedures is policy neutral and good democracy. Reversing these actions for political expedition, even on critical policies like climate change, creates cynicism, mistrust and is unsustainable. It's approach may be one election away from biting progressives in the arse when a different agenda is promulgated.

A significant component of Joe Biden’s first 100 days has been the rapid reversal and work-in-process unwinding of former president Donald Trump’s efforts to streamline federal regulation. This began with his “Executive Order on the Revocation of Certain Presidential Actions.”
